Outback Steakhouse® Opens New Restaurant in Hurst, Texas
New Location First to Feature New Interior and Exterior Design
Hurst, TX (July 10, 2013) – The Outback Steakhouse® at 701 Airport Freeway will be closing its doors on July 14 and reopening Wednesday, July 17 at 813 Airport Freeway (the southwest corner of HWY 183 and Precinct Line Road) at 11:00 a.m. for lunch. The new location will be the first in the state of Texas to feature a new building design both inside and out.
“Our new location will offer our customers a new dining experience in the bar, restaurant and on our new patio and even more parking,” said Ronan McCaffrey, Managing Partner of the Hurst Outback Steakhouse®. “We are excited to be the first Outback Steakhouse in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex to feature this new exterior look and look forward to sharing it with all of our current and new customers.
The Hurst Outback will open its doors for business Wednesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. They will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony with the HEB Chamber of Commerce at 2 p.m.
To show its support of the local communities, 50 percent of the Hurst Outback’s opening day sales from 4 to 10 p.m. (up to $5,000.00) will benefit the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Retired School Employees (HEB RSE) Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund helps support para-professionals pursuing their education degree and certification. “We are thrilled with the possibility of increasing the number of scholarship recipients or the amount of the scholarships with the help of Outback's "Give Back" program,” said Pat Reinecker, HEB-RSE President.
“Modern Australia” Design
The new exterior signals change while maintaining elements of the original design. The Hurst Outback design features two outdoor patios, one exposing heavy timber detailing, and both featuring louvers and screens.
Inside, guests are greeted in a space with a tall ceiling with several elements that make the room warm and inviting. The large, open ceiling features heavy timber and light fixtures that suspend light bulbs above and below the timbers. The inviting lobby showcases spices used in the kitchen, and a video entertains with footage shot in the Australian Outback. The dining room features décor that accents the indigenous flora and fauna, adventure, geography and leisure of modern Australia.
The new restaurant also features a spacious, energetic bar area that includes a community table - a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy specialty beer, wine and hand-crafted cocktails. The bar also features customized seating and furnishings and is connected to the outdoor dining patio.
