Supporting our troops and their families has been our longstanding commitment at Outback Steakhouse. What began as a grassroots initiative in Tampa, Florida, when Outback Steakhouse was founded 23 years ago, has since grown into an international effort. In 2002, Outback launched “Operation Feeding Freedom,” sending a team of volunteer employees to Afghanistan to feed American troops. Since then, Outback has made a total of 9 trips to the Middle East and brought over 200,000 troops a much needed taste of home. For the last two years, Outback invited its guests to order off its special “Red, White & Bloomin’” Menu and donated $2 Million to Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization providing everyday and emergency support for active troops, wounded warriors and their families.
