About the Outback Bowl
The Outback Bowl is a New Year's Day college football game matching teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conference. This year's match-up will be announced Sunday, December 6th.
Last Year's Game
The University of Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the University of South Carolina 31-10 in the 2009 Outback Bowl. The Hawkeyes faced the Gamecocks for the first time in history. Iowa won five of their final six games including a win over then No. 3 and undefeated Penn State. The Hawkeyes feature RB Shonn Greene, the Big Ten Most Valuable Player, the Doak Walker Award winner and the nations second leading rusher. The Gamecocks feature the 11th ranked defense in the nation including the third best against the pass. This was both teams third appearance in the Outback Bowl game.

Raymond James Stadium
Raymond James Stadium, home to the Outback Bowl,
is a state-of-the-art Tampa treasure designed for
the 21st century. Fans enjoy theater-style seats
with cup holders and unique festive end-zone concourses
accented by two large video scoreboards. There are
122 concession outlets. Also two sports bars and
two specialty restaurants on the club concourse.
