Meet some of our amazing Outbackers who are making a difference in the communities they serve.

Meet Sam Spearl...

...a Joint Venture Partner at Outback Steakhouse in the Tampa and Sarasota regions. Mr. Spearl is passionate about supporting the Marine Corporal Joshua C. Watkins Endowed Scholarship Fund, a scholarship for active duty, reserve, or honorably discharged military personnel, and for “any community-driven cause that helps to benefit those in need.” As a first generation Asian-American, Spearl says “being culturally diverse has helped me to better connect and understand how to help others.” Thank you, Mr. Spearl, for sharing your cultural values and beliefs!”

Meet Bobbie Lee Logan...

...a Proprietor at Outback Steakhouse. Ms. Logan recently joined the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Tampa Bay Chapter, and is also passionate about working with local elementary and high schools. Speaking about AAPI month, Ms. Logan said, “it’s a time to celebrate my mom and two sisters, and embrace who we are and where we come from.” Thank you, Ms. Logan, for giving everyone an insight into your culture and what it means to you!”

Meet Leah Burgess...

...Brand Manager for Outback. “My parents, like many Asian immigrants, worked incredibly hard, showing that the courage and perseverance of Asian immigrants is to not just survive, but thrive in a new country. I am incredibly proud to be an Asian American. The traditions I share with my children are centered around family and respecting our elders. I’m thankful to be able to share these values with them, and pass along our heritage.”

Meet Sheilina Henry...

...the GVP, Diversity & Inclusion at Outback. Ms. Henry volunteers with the Ladies of Virtue Fundraiser, a transformative mentoring and leadership experience for girls living in underserved communities, and she’s passionate about “supporting teenage girls in attending college and solidifying their futures.” Thank you, Ms. Henry, for the amazing commitment you have to your community!

Meet Kasey Kasmeier...

...a Proprietor JVP Intern at Outback. She volunteers with many organizations, including MDA, which supports kids and adults with Muscular Dystrophy; Restoration Ranch, a local recovery program; the American Red Cross; and Fame Girls Ranch, a nonprofit charity providing long term residential care for girls in need. Thank you, Ms. Kasmeier, for the amazing commitment you have to your community!

Meet Walter Mack III...

...who has been a member of the Outback family for 17 years. Starting as a Bloom Cook, Mr. Mack worked his way up to become the first African American Joint Venture Partner in central Florida. He volunteers with Boggy Creek, a camp that helps to feed children with serious illnesses and their families each year, while creating a “free, safe, and fun environment.” Thank you, Mr. Mack, for the amazing work you do!

Meet Jenny Medina...

...a Managing Partner and JVP Intern at Outback. She is passionate about her community, and she volunteers with the Nassau Suffolk Autism Society—a non-profit organization that raises awareness and money for families affected with autism on Long Island. Thank you, Ms. Medina, for your all of your amazing involvement!

Meet Maisha Rucks...

Ms. Rucks has been with Outback for 6 years and received Partner of the Year in 2017. She’s a volunteer for the Mash Bash, an event partnered with the American Red Cross to support military veterans in her community. She believes “that if we work together as people, we can get so much more achieved.” Thank you, Ms. Rucks, for your contribution to the betterment of your community.
